Sharyn Jones is an associate professor of Anthropology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research interests include: indigenous history of tropical island chiefdoms, marine resource exploitation, hierarchy, foodways, political economy, ethnoarchaeology, zooarchaeology, and gender. Geographically, her research is focused on Fiji and Polynesia and the Caribbean Islands.
